spring

March 21, 2016

Spring is [technically] here and I could not be more excited. Despite dating a man whose favorite pastime is snowboarding and lives for the winter, I can honestly say that winter is my least favorite season. But now that spring has sprung, we can officially say good bye to the cold and hello to pretty plant life. I’m so ready to be a plant hoarder.

color. me. quirky. peer review // Christina Tonkin

peer review // Christina Tonkin

September 11, 2014

I wanted to follow up with last weeks Gossip Girl post with a peer review of the set designer herself, Christina Tonkin. You've probably seen her work while watching The Carrie Diaries, Gossip Girl, or Sex and The City and didn't even realize that all of these incredible spaces were connected by the same brilliant designer. Christina also ventures off sets and into real homes (which are also amazing) but her Gossip Girl spaces are definitely my favorite.

The dynamic color combinations, impeccable attention to detail, and exquisite taste in artwork leaves each space completely unique to the character who dwells there. The Humphrey's loft is filled with a rocker, Brooklyn hipster turned father vibe. While the Waldorf's two-story penthouse shares the same classic, vintage with a modern twist feeling fitting only of Queen B herself. For those of you who share my love for the series probably recall all of these amazing spaces, but for those of you who need a refresher, here is the GG set run down.

adventure is out there

August 25, 2014

Happy Monday to all my favs!

I hope you all had an amazing weekend and are feeling nice & refreshed this Monday morning. In case not, I am totally here for you with your a Monday dose of randomness. Me on the other hand, I am actually feeling pretty refreshed. It was such nice weather here, allowing for plenty of adventures around town. One adventure that I've been waiting to do all summer- heading to Brooklyn for Brooklyn flea- was FINALLY accomplished yesterday. And let me tell you, It was awesome!

I typically spend my Sundays sleeping in, brunching, or just cleaning my apartment, but yesterday I convinced the boyfriend that adventuring to Brooklyn needed to be done and he was all for it. We didn't get much, just the two arrows above (which he then drew on, he's kind of amazing), but the whole experience was so fun. Great food, amazing furniture, and killer backdrop view of the city. All & all it was awesome and we will definitely be going back.

color. me. quirky. heart of the home // pt.1 //

heart of the home // pt.1 //

August 15, 2014

Okay, so I already knew that this post would have to be a two parter. Typically I try to keep Fridays as an organized post highlighting some aspect of the home (ie bathrooms, fire places, closets, etc). But limiting the photos of interior-maj worthy kitchens is basically impossible. Have you ever scrolled through pinterest or flipped through a magazine? Kitchens have evolved from just being a place to prepare food, to the heart of the home, and that heart needs to be impeccably decorated. So with that, I give you part one of the most amazing hearts of the home.
